Trevecca Film Students Produce a Video for Rejoice.

This past September, Rejoice was honored to partner with Trevecca Nazarene University on a special student film project. Professor Seth Conley, who had previously worked with Rejoice, remembered how much his students enjoyed the experience. He had students who were embarking on a corporate and organizational video course and was seeking a local nonprofit to collaborate with. Professor Conley hoped his students could produce a project that would benefit the nonprofit.

Rejoice Executive Director, Sharyn Mahoney was enthusiastic about giving Rejoice students and families the chance to participate in a film project. Each new challenge that our dancers face is an opportunity for growth and learning. Several dancers were interviewed for this project, allowing them to develop their public speaking skills while others focused on their classes as the cameras captured their activities.

Rejoice was paired with the following student team:

- Bethany Frigo, Director

- Carlos Nunez, Assistant Director

- Ariana Paz, Director of Photography

- Eliel Andrade, Camera Operator and Lead Editor

The process began with interviews of the Rejoice staff to establish goals for the final product. The students proposed an excellent idea, and a filming schedule was developed for October and November. Rejoice was proud of our students' maturity during the filming process. We were also thrilled to have former Rejoice student Eva Pregont make a special appearance, sharing the impact that Rejoice had on her life and future. Eva is currently a student in the Professional Division at Nashville Ballet, working towards a career in ballet.

The Trevecca students expressed how much they enjoyed working with Rejoice. They found the mission inspiring, and the opportunity to share Rejoice’s story made the project even more meaningful to them. They were also impressed by the quality of our dancers. Rejoice loves to collaborate with local organizations. The program at Trevecca Nazarene is top-notch, and Professor Conley is providing his students with real-world, hands-on experience through partnerships with organizations like ours.
